Our history
It began with
one merchant’s vision.
In 1924, Anton Wilhelm Christian Denker founded the business in Hamburg. What started as an independent trading house developed through new products, new markets and lasting commercial relationships.
The company’s core remains international trade: exporting technical products from Europe to overseas markets, complemented by selected imports and distribution in Europe.
Today, ANTON W.C. DENKER GMBH combines that heritage with the market understanding of its group companies and international offices.
1924
A Hamburg trading house begins
Anton Wilhelm Christian Denker establishes the company and begins developing overseas trade.
1950
A new chapter in export
Export activities restart after the war, followed by expansion into further international markets.
1965
Lindenstraße becomes home
The business moves to Lindenstraße in central Hamburg. A sales office is established in Johannesburg.
1976–1979
Experience through expansion
The company takes over activities and business connections from other Hamburg trading houses and becomes ANTON W.C. DENKER GMBH in 1977.
2003–2005
A new ownership chapter
Christopher Kentrup and Torsten Marquardt acquire shares in 2003 and complete the takeover in 2005.
2024
One hundred years of trade
The company reaches its centenary — a milestone in a business shaped by changing markets and lasting relationships.
